Nashville Raises Awareness of Distracted Driving

As part of Trauma Awareness month the Vanderbilt University Lifeflight and Emergency Department teamed up with a few Nashville celebrities to  address the issue of distracted driving!

Click here to see the music video “Highway Don’t Care”  from Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban. Also, check out the pledge drive that the Trauma nurses are doing. This is a resource you don’t want to miss.

Thanks to Melissa Smith, STN member and Trauma Program Manager at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for sharing this one of a kind resource with the Society of Trauma Nurses. We encourage you to pass along the video link (http://news.vanderbilt.edu/2013/05/vanderbilt-county-superstar-tim-mcgraw-share-important-message-regarding-dangers-of-distracted-driving/) to your Injury Prevention Coordinators and community.

For Boston

The Society of Trauma Nurses extends their condolences to the runners and families affected by the events at the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15. The organization is thankful and proud to be part of the first responders, trauma nurses and physicians who provided care and support for those injured in the blasts. Members, colleagues and partners of STN are in our thoughts and we are committed treating injured patients.
