The 2008 STN Annual Conference "Challenges and Controversies" initiated the STN plan to rotate the annual meeting throughout the US so that more of our members have access to this great education and networking experience.  STN is pleased and excited to report that the conference was definitely a success.

• There were a total of 345 attendees.
• The pre-conferences were attended by 140 physicians and nurses.
• The city of New Orleans and the Sheraton Hotel were welcoming and gracious hosts.
• The speakers were world class and presented their topics with expertise and "flair".
• The collaborative relationship between the American College of Surgeons and STN was further enriched and expanded.
• There was more time for the SIGs to meet and rich ideas for future education and growth resulted.
• The vendor support was strong and our first ever vendor supported dinner and education was very well attended.
• The excitement, energy, and enthusiasm generated at this conference portend well for the future growth and success of our future conferences.
