May 24, 2018

STN's next educational webinar will take place on Thursday, May 24 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. ET. The title of the webinar is If Pain, No Gain: Acute Pain Management for Trauma Patients, Clinical Pearls and Pitfalls, presented by Carla Wittenberg MSN, ACNP-BC, RNFA

Trauma is a major public health problem and the number one cause of death in the United States and globally. Almost all trauma patients experience pain initially and for some, pain can last for day, weeks and months turning into chronic pain. If left untreated, pain can contribute to impaired mobility, development of nosocomial infections such as pneumonia and problems such as delirium and deep vein thrombosis/PEs leading to prolonged hospital stays.
