STN February Webinar: Missed Opportunities - When to Put Child Abuse on the Differential

STN's next educational webinar will take place on Wednesday, February 28 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. EST. The title of the webinar is Missed Opportunities - When to Put Child Abuse on the Differential, presented by Nancy Henderson, M.D.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
  • Discuss mandated reporting law and the obstacles to reporting.
  • Identify which injured child requires a child abuse evaluation.
  • Recognize subtle signs and nonspecific symptoms of major trauma.
  • Understand sentinel injuries and their significance.
  • Understand which laboratory and imaging studies may be ordered when physicial abuse is expected.
  • Understand the complexity of medical child abuse and when to intervene.
Continuing Education
The Society of Trauma Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This program has been awarded 1.0 hour of continuing nursing education. Continuing nursing education will only be offered for STN members.
