The Society strives to meet the varied needs of its membership for information and education in the areas of pediatrics, rural trauma and neuro trauma and to assist nurses in becoming researchers and publishers of original scientific and other manuscripts. Each interest group will be providing support such as recommended weblinks, selected readings, samples of documents to read and use and opportunities for active involvement.

Advanced Practice Trauma Nursing Special Interest Group:  Addresses the needs and concerns of trauma advanced practice nurses. 

Injury Prevention Special Interest Group: Addresses the needs and concerns of nurses involved in injury prevention.

Legislative Special Interest Group:  Involved in monitoring trauma-related public policy and advocacy at local, state, and national level, and maintains the STN Legislative Assistance Center.

Military Special Interest Group:  Open to all members with an interest in the Military Special Interest Group.

Neurotrauma Special Interest Group:  Addresses the needs and concerns of nurses involved in neurological trauma.

Pediatric Trauma Interest Group:  Focuses on the needs of nurses interested in care of the pediatric trauma patient.

Rural Trauma Interest Group: Focuses on the needs of trauma nurses who practice in a rural and small community setting.
