ATCN Revision Project Leads Needed
We are looking to appoint leads to assist in meeting a 2008 revision release of the ATCN manuals.
As many of you may have heard the new ATLS 8th edition will be coming out in fall of 2008. This will mean that we will need to begin to look at the needed revisions for the ATCN manual, case scenarios and triage scenarios for both the provider and instructor manuals. We are also interested in adding a section on disaster management to the provider manual. We have just received the draft rewritten ATCN exam questions, these questions were rewritten by Ann White, a professional educator with expertise in exam writing.
As we move forward we will need to appoint leads to assist in meeting a 2008 revision release of the ATCN manuals;
We are looking for Leads for the following areas:
1) ATCN Manual chapter leads (must be an ATCN instructor to be the lead) one lead for provider manual and one lead for instructor manual, the chapters are:
• Airway
• Hemorrhagic Shock
• Initial Assessment
• Head Trauma
• Pediatric Trauma
• Spinal and Extremity Immobilization
2) ATCN Triage Scenarios (must be an ATCN instructor to be the lead
3) ATCN case scenarios (must be an ATCN instructor to be the lead)
4) Disaster management section (Provider manual only)
Please e-mail the ATCN executive committee if you are interested in working on one of these projects. E-mail address is ATCN@TraumaNurseSoc.org
Thank you,
Richard Henn, ATCN chair
