Rene Ackermann, RN

Rene Ackermann earned her RN in 1997 and was part of the military until 2006, earning rank of Major. In 2011 she became the first TPM in South Africa (SA) and then Netcare Hospital Group’s National Trauma Quality and Systems Manager. Since 2021 she has been Trauma, Emergency & Transplant Manager for Lenmed Healthcare Group – SA & Africa. She is on the STN International Council and Global Trauma QI Task Force and is the current President of EN Soc. of SA, board member EM Society of SA and Fellow of Academy of Nurses of SA.



Samantha Baker, AS, CAISS

Sam Baker is a trauma quality analytics manager for University of Louisville Hospital’s Trauma Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. She began working in the field of healthcare data management in 2002 and in 2013, obtained her Associate of Science degree in Public Health from American Military University. In 2016, her experience in data analysis and management led her into the trauma arena where she continues to further her trauma registry knowledge at a Level 1 academic medical center today.



Lori Beck, MSN, RN, CPEN, TNS

Lori Beck is a Trauma Nurse Coordinator at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She provides trauma education and follow up for Missouri and Illinois hospitals as well as EMS. She has spoken at local, regional and national conferences on various topics related to pediatric trauma. Her particular area of interest is injury prevention. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.



Cynthia Blank-Reid, MSN, RN, TCRN, CEN

Cynthia Blank-Reid received her BSN from Villanova Univ. and MSN in Burn, Trauma and Emergency Nursing from Widener Univ. She has worked on a surgical floor, trauma/NS ICU, ED, pre-hospital and as a TPM. For the past 18 yearsm she has been the Trauma CNS at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. She has published and lectured nationally and internationally on a multitude of nursing topics. She has worked on several STN committees including geriatrics and the annual conference, and has served on the BOD and is a Past President.



Pamela Bourg, PhD,RN,TCRN,FAEN

Dr. Bourg has an earned PhD from University of Arizona, College of Nursing. Dr. Bourg has worked clinically as staff nurse, Clinical nurse specialist and program manager and director at Level 1 trauma centers around the country. She is recognized as leader in the field of Emergency and Trauma Nursing with presentations at regional and national meetings. She has spoken about marijuana in trauma care at several conferences locally and nationally.



Alexandra Briggs, MD FACS

Dr. Briggs is a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Her research focuses on trauma in active geriatric patients and emergency general surgery in rural geriatric patients. She serves as the Chair of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) Committee on Rural Trauma. She received the American College of Surgeons-James C. Thompson Associate Fellow Scholar in Geriatric Surgery award for 2020 to 2022.



Kristen Chreiman, MSN, RN, TCRN, CCRN-K

Kristen Chreiman has been a nurse for over 25 years and is TPM at an urban, academic Level 1 trauma center at Penn Medicine, PPMC. In this role, and in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director, Kristen oversees the development and maintenance of trauma center clinical operations, performance improvement program, educational programs, trauma registry and accreditation that affects all functions of the Trauma Center. She is a Director-at-Large on the STN Board of Directors and has served on several local and national committees.



Alicia Cochran, RN, BSN

Alicia Cochran is a Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. She received her BSN from Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in 2011. Alicia has worked in a variety of pediatric nursing roles and found an interest and passion in pediatric trauma. While functioning as a Trauma Nurse Clinician, following patients from start to discharge, she grew in interest on improving processes and ensuring quality care. She transitioned to her current role of PI at the end of 2021 and recently completed a successful ACS reverification. As part of a trauma system, she collaborates with staff at sister campus Scottish Rite, a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.



Jessica Cofran, MSN, RN, TCRN, CSTR, CAISS

Jessica Cofran is a Trauma Informatics Manager for the UCHealth Northern Colorado Region. She has 13 years’ trauma nursing experience with specialty in trauma critical care, emergency care, trauma registry, and process improvement. Jessica has been an active part of the Trauma Community for the past 8 years and is currently serving as the Vice President of the Colorado Trauma Network, Co-Chair of the American Trauma Society Trauma Nurse Leadership Council, and an active member Society of Trauma Nurses Leadership Development Committee. Jessica has special interest in utilizing technology to elevate performance improvement processes, trauma data analytics and implementation, and development of regional systemization and inter-facility collaboration.



Cristiane de Alencar Domingues, PhD, MSN, BSN, RN

Cristiane de Alencar Domingues has a BSN from the University of São Paulo (USP) School of Nursing, and a MSN and PhD from USP School of Nursing. She has experience in med‐surg nursing, acute care, trauma care, prehospital, performance improvement program, injury severity score, trauma severity indexes, trauma center implementation, training, and simulation. She is currently the Coordinator at All Trauma, and Trauma Team Nurse at Hospital Nove de Julho and Hospital Vitória. She is a member of the STN International Council and BOD of the Brazilian Committee on Trauma.



Robbie Dumond, MHA, BSN, TCRN, AEMT

Robbie Dumond is the Director of Trauma Services at the University of Colorado Hospital. Robbie is actively involved in trauma education and improving trauma systems and performance improvement processes. He currently serves as a TOPIC Course Instructor, TNCC Instructor, ATCN Instructor. He is a Trauma Designation Reviewer in Colorado and Nebraska and currently is the nurse representative on the American College of Surgeons Trauma Quality Improvement Program Training Project Team.



Susanne Edwards, BSN

Susanne Edwards is a Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, a Level II Trauma Center. She received her BSN from Medical College of Georgia- Augusta University in 2004. Susanne has worked at CHOA for 20 years. Throughout her career she has worked as a staff nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Trauma Nurse Clinician and most recently PI Coordinator. Early on in her career, she sparked an interest in quality and trauma, which helped her transition to her currently role in July, 2022. As part of a trauma system, she collaborates with the Egleston campus, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.



Stephen Goux, MSN, MS, RN, AFN-BC, CEN, CPEN, TCRN, CFRN, CTRN

Stephen Goux is the Trauma Education and EMS Outreach Coordinator at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Mr. Goux holds a baccalaureate degree in nursing, a Master of Science in Forensic Nursing, and a Master of Science in Forensic DNA and Serology. He is a current doctoral student, pursuing a dual PhD and DNP with a research focus in nursing educational leadership.



Melissa Hall, MSN, RN

Melissa Hall is the Trauma Program Director at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, with over a decade of trauma leadership experience. Melissa has been a registered nurse for 20 years in emergency medicine and trauma. She is active at the local, state and national levels and has a special interest in trauma systems management and leadership development. Melissa is the Chair for the Society of Trauma Nurses Leadership Development Committee.



Melissa Harte, DNP, MSHA, RN, TCRN

Melissa brings experience in trauma nursing in a wide range of areas including adult and pediatric emergency/trauma care. Dr. Harte has served in leadership roles in trauma centers from coast to coast. Dr. Harte is a board certified trauma nurse, a popular speaker and consultant. She is Past-President of STN,TNCC instructor, lead facilitator for STN TCRN preparation course, and STN Leadership Institute. Melissa enjoys golfing, antiques, and most importantly her pride and joy-her 3 sons.



Jennifer Heidle, BS

Jennifer Heidle is the Clinical Research Coordinator for Trauma Services at Cox Health Systems in Springfield, Missouri. She received her bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University with specialties in Biomedical Science, Biology, and Education. She spent several years in higher education, as a member of the MSU adjunct faculty for the Biomedical Sciences Department, teaching Introduction to Biomedical Sciences and Human Genetics.



Heidi Hotz, RN

Heidi Hotz is an executive trauma nurse leader overseeing the Level I trauma program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She has served in the elected position of President for 4 trauma professional organizations: The STN, The ATS, The Trauma Managers Association of California, and the LA Assoc. of Trauma Program Managers. She is the recipient of the STNs Trauma Leadership Award. She was awarded the EAST Honorary Membership; being the second nurse to receive this honor.



Jorie Klein, MSN, MHA, BSN, RN

Jorie Klein is the Director of the Texas Department of State Health Services EMS / Trauma Systems Section. She is a past member of the Governor’s EMS, Trauma Advisory Council’s Trauma System Committee. She is a current member of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) , Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement Committee, and a past president of STN. She is the course director for the Advancing Leadership in Trauma Centers Course sponsored by the American College of Surgeons.



Amy Koestner, RN, MSN

Ms. Koestner has a 35-year nursing career, with experience spanning pediatric ICU, flight nursing, and the past 20 years in the role of trauma program manager. She is the current Trauma Program Director at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids, MI. She has served as a STN liaison to the Committee on Trauma. She remains active as faculty for ATCN and the Optimal Trauma Center Course. She serves as a nurse reviewer for the ACS and multiple state systems for trauma verification.



Knut Kolstadbraten, MSN, CRNA, RN

Has BSN from Lovisenberg Diaconal Univ. College (Norway) and Flinders Univ. (Australia). Is a CRNA/MSN and finishing MHA. Since 2015, has been TPM at Oslo Univ. Hospital and Regional TPM of Norway South East Health Region with 15 Level II trauma centers. Is Senior Advisor on Norwegian Healthcare Investigation Board which investigates serious adverse events. Was STN Board International Director (2012 – 2022). Now European member of International Council working on STN’s Global Trauma QI project.



Amy Krichten, MSN, RN, CEN, TCRN

Amy serves as the Director of Accreditation for the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation. She is a consultant and site surveyor for trauma systems across the United States and has spent her twenty-plus years of nursing in the trauma spectrum including roles of a Trauma Program Manager, Nurse Manager Trauma/Neuro ICU, Emergency Department Manager and Educator and Orthopedics Clinical Operations Manager. Amy is president of the national Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) and the founding co-chair of the STN Leadership Committee. She is a contributing author and instructor for the TOPIC Course, and currently serves as an item writer for the BCEN/TCRN examination. Amy has several publications to her credit, including topics such as Crew Resource Management, Leadership and Injury Prevention.



Amber Kyle, RN, MSN

Amber Kyle is the Director of Trauma Services at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has over 25 years of experience in trauma care and trauma system development. She has served in a variety of leadership role with the Society of Trauma Nurses and currently co-chairs the TOPIC Committee.



Patricia A. Manion, BSN, MS, RN, TCRN

Patricia A. Manion, BSN, MS, RN, TCRN is an experienced educator, critical care nurse, and trauma nurse. Her particular areas of expertise include trauma performance improvement and preparation for trauma verification.

As a Trauma Program Manager, she held positions in two American College of Surgeons verified Level II Trauma Centers. The first brought a Level II center to their first verification as a Level II center, and the second was a new Level II that matured over her 10 years in the role of TPM. As a member of the Michigan Trauma Coalition, she mentored new trauma program managers and trauma medical directors resulting in successful verification of new Level II and Level III trauma centers. As an independent trauma program consultant, she has served as interim Trauma Program Manager for an academic Level I trauma center, resulting in a successful Level I trauma reverification and a successful focus visit at a Level II trauma center. For the past 3 years she has served as the Content Editor for STN educational programs. She has also, participated in site reviews for the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation.

A member of the Society of Trauma Nurses for past 26 years, she served on the Board of Directors as Annual Conference Chairperson for 5 years, Secretary for 2 years, and Membership Chairperson for 2 years. Participating in the development of the Mentorship Program, participating in the development of the STN Leadership Institute, and developing and serving as chair of the STN Continuing Education Provider Unit. Pat was awarded the STN Distinguished Lectureship award in 2014 and Distinguished Leadership award in 2019.

A long- time member of the ENA, she has been a TNCC Instructor and State Faculty and contributed to the 6th edition of the TNCC manual. She also held the offices of Michigan ENA Trauma Chairperson, State President and State Secretary and was awarded the Emergency Nurse Excellence Award in 2004.



Kathleen Martin, MSN, RN

Kathleen Martin assists in developing trauma systems globally. She was senior director of trauma at UCHealth CO, was trauma nurse director at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, 1st ACS-verified trauma center outside USA and TPM at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She served on STN BOD and was 2000-2001 STN President, was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Trauma Nursing and a developer of the TOPIC course She has mentored nurses globally and presented on every continent. ch as Crew Resource Management, Leadership and Injury Prevention.



LeighAnn Mazzone, MSN, RN, CEN

LeighAnn Mazzone has been a nurse for over 22 years and is currently the Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department. She oversees the daily operations of the Emergency Department and Trauma Bay, and is instrumental in the successful transition of the trauma program to Penn Presbyterian, as well as the expansion of the Emergency Department and the transition to a new EMR. She has presented posters on the topics of patient throughput and workplace violence, and has been published for her work on throughput, and safe extrication of a patient from a vehicle.



Sacha McBain, PhD

Sacha McBain is a Licensed Psychologist, credentialed National Register Health Service Psychologist, and a STRONG STAR Network Cognitive Processing Therapy Provider. She is the Assistant Director for Departments of Psychiatry and Surgery as well as the Associate Director for Trauma Prevention, Recovery, and Innovation. Dr. McBain is the PI for a study determining the feasibility of the use of nurse-administered trauma-focused care in the outpatient clinic following inpatient treatment.



Maria McMahon, MSN, PNP-PC/AC, NE-BC, TCRN

Maria McMahon is the Trauma Center Manager at Boston Children’s Hospital. She provides strong leadership working with the Trauma team, clinical staff, and multidisciplinary services staff to ensure current evidenced based practice information and education is available to better care for the injured child. Maria is actively involved in several professional organizations, and has presented on the topic of pediatric trauma and injury prevention, both nationally and internationally.



Karen McQuillan, MS, RN, CNS-BC, CCRN, CNRN, TCRN, FAAN

Karen has worked for 35 years as Clinical Nurse Specialist at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. She has lectured on neurological and trauma topics at numerous conferences. Well published on neurological and trauma topics, Karen has served as lead editor for the text Trauma Nursing: From Resuscitation Through Rehabilitation. She has been an investigator on studies exploring various aspects of trauma nursing care.She is a Past President for the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.



Judy Mikhail, PhD, MBA, RN

Judy N. Mikhail is the current Program Manager of the Michigan Trauma Quality Improvement Program (MTQIP) a quality collaborative of 35 Level I and II Michigan Trauma Centers. Judy also serves as the Editor of the Journal of Trauma Nursing.



Jessica Z. Osipowicz, MSN, CRNP

Jessica Z. Osipowicz is a Trauma Nurse Practitioner at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a Level I Trauma Center. She received both her BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, in 2006 and 2011 respectively. She began her career as a PICU staff nurse before transitioning to her current role in 2012. Professionally, she has lectured within her institution and at local/regional conferences including NCN and John M. Templeton Jr. Pediatric Trauma Symposium.



Megan Quintana, MD

Dr. Megan Quintana is a trauma surgeon at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Megan graduated with honors from Yale University with a degree in the History of Science and Medicine, specifically studying World War II German medicine. She attended the University of Colorado for Medical School followed by a seven year general surgery residency at the University of North Carolina. After residency, Megan completed a fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at Shock Trauma.



Kristen Ray, RN, MSN, TCRN, CCRN

Kristen is the Clinical Quality Nurse Leader at UF Health for the ED, Trauma & pediatric ED in Jacksonville, FL. She has worked at a numerous trauma centers throughout the east coast, including R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD; University Hospital in Newark, NJ & Inova Medical Center, in Virginia in a variety of positions in nursing ICU/ ED/ trauma to trauma educator, trauma registrar coordinator, to her current position & lectured numerous times at the national level.



Linda Reinhart, MSN, RN, CNS, CCRN, TCRN

Linda Reinhart is Trauma Program Manager at Grand View Health. Prior to this she worked at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown PA for 34 years. She is currently working as a Clinical RN in Trauma Neuro ICU. She previously served in both management and education positions; Patient Care Coordinator, Adult Trauma Coordinator and Patient Care Specialist for Trauma and Burn Services. She serves as ATCN Course Director and on STN BOD as President-elect and member of ATCN Committee. She has been a volunteer firefighter for last 40 years.



Stephanie Rohrer, BSN, RN

Stephanie Rohrer is the trauma outpatient nurse at the only adult level 1 trauma center in Arkansas for the past 5 years. She coordinates outpatient visits to the trauma clinic. She serves as an advocate for the patient and family in obtaining high-quality care following an injury. She is the primary nurse providing the nurse-administered trauma-focused treatment working to lessen the effects of PTSD and depression after an injury.



Elizabeth Seislove, MSN, RN

Elizabeth Seislove is the Senior VP of Resident Care for Spectrum Retirement Communities. She oversees care delivery for all communities and supports clinical and quality process improvement. She is in charge of strategic goals related to care initiatives, national and local contracting and clinical metrics for outcome measurement. Her prior positions were AVP - Trauma at HCA in Nashville and Director of Trauma at Lehigh Valley Health in Allentown, PA. She has served on the STN Geriatric Committee, is past chair of the ATCN Committee, and is a Past President of STN.



Julie Seman, MSN, RN, CCRN

Julie Seman has been a nurse for over 25 years and the nurse manager of the trauma and surgical intensive care unit at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC). She manages a team of over eighty nurses and ancillary staff, including daily operations of a 20 bed ICU. She is a member of the health system’s critical care alliance, and ATCN and STB instructor. Previously, she was the assistant NM of the TSICU at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania ( HUP) and instrumental in moving the trauma center from HUP to PPMC in 2015.



Suzanne Sherwood, BSN MS RN TCRN

Suzanne Sherwood is an assistant professor at a university teaching Trauma /ED and Critical Care courses. She has over 30 years of experience caring for trauma patients at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. She is President of the Chesapeake Bay AACN, and teaches nationally on trauma-related topics. She has authored journal articles and book chapters included in the 5th edition of Trauma Nursing; endorsed by AACN and STN. In 2017, she received her TCRN and taught in the TCRN certification course, and teaches in Stop the Bleed classes.



Joseph Sakran, MD

Dr. Joseph Sakran is a trailblazer and nationally respected voice in the firearm injury prevention movement. He is currently Director of Emergency General Surgery, Associate Professor of Surgery and Nursing, and Vice Chair of Clinical Operations at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. As a survivor of firearm-related violence, he was motivated to become a surgeon, researcher, and advocate in firearm injury prevention. At every turn of his career, he has used his personal experience and substantial skills to push a new frontier primarily in service of marginalized communities in the United States.

The Academy Health recognized his research on firearm-related injury with the Outstanding Article of the Year Award. Dr. Sakran served as a National Academy of Medicine Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow in the U.S. Senate during the COVID-19 pandemic guiding historic legislation. As a Senior Fellow at the Satcher Health Leadership Institute, Dr. Sakran was instrumental in creation of the Health Equity Tracker. In 2019, Dr. Sakran was named a Presidential Leadership Scholar in which he furthered his research on safe gun storage. He was also a 2020 recipient of Johns Hopkins' Catalyst Award for his pioneering research on physicians' role in educating patients on safe gun storage. Most recently, he was instrumental in helping shepherd the legislation that led to the passage of the first federal firearm injury prevention legislation in nearly 30 years, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act.

He has demonstrated & trained healthcare professionals on how to effectively communicate the data & science to drive social change. He has testified before U.S. Congress, and other Federal and State agencies on Firearm injury prevention. His innovative work and exceptional leadership in firearm injury prevention has been most instrumental in establishing the urgency and intellectual foundation to drive research and evidence-based policy change at the local, state, and federal level.



Diana Skaff, DBA(C), MBA-M, BSN, RN

Diana Skaff is a seasoned healthcare executive leveraging 18+ years of experience in healthcare. She has a BS in Nursing, MBA in Management and Doctor candidate in BA with healthcare management. She has qualifications in Research, Education, Simulation, and Business Research Analysis, and Program Evaluation. International member of the STN Leadership Development Committee, Nurse Planner, Reviewer in the JTN, ATCN Director, ATLS coordinator, & PHTLS director, coordinator & instructor.



Jason W. Smith, MD, PhD, MBA, FACS

Jason Smith, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, FACS, the Hiram C. Polk Junior and Banerjee Professor of Surgery at the University of Louisville, is a board-certified surgeon and critical care physician focused on trauma, burn care and emergency surgery. He is currently the System Chief Medical Officer for UofL Health, and a Professor of Surgery and Physiology at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Smith joined the UofL faculty in 2008, after completing his residency at The Ohio State University. He completed his Ph.D. through University of Louisville and his MBA at Indiana University. Dr. Smith has served as the Division Director of General Surgery at the University of Louisville Hospital and the Chief Medical Information Officer and Chief Medical Officer at University of Louisville Hospital previously.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as CMO, Dr. Smith led the UofL Health system through all changing protocols, collaboration with the state and competing hospitals, and developing a community outreach plan to provide testing and vaccines in underserved communities. In addition to his administrative and clinical duties, Dr. Smith runs a successful basic science laboratory evaluating novel mechanisms of resuscitation and has been funded by both the NIH and the Department of Defense. Dr. Smith holds numerous state and national offices in surgical and trauma organizations.

Outside of work Dr. Smith enjoys, hiking and fishing with his kids, playing guitar, and has been known to race a car or two on his free weekends.



Ronald Stewart, MD FACS

Dr. Ronald Stewart serves as the Chair of the Department of Surgery at UT Health San Antonio. As the STRAC Board Chair, he and the STRAC team have led the development of the Southwest Texas Regional Advisory Council’s (STRAC) integrated civilian military trauma and emergency health care system. During his tenure as the ACS COT Chair the COT implemented the ACS Stop the Bleed educational program which has trained more than 2.1 million on controlling life-threatening bleeding.



Maryana Svirchuk, RN

Maryanna is the Executive Director of a union of three hospitals in Lviv, Ukraine. She has responsibility for the Lviv Emergency Hospital, #8 Burn Hospital and the Pediatric Hospital in Lviv.



Tiffany Taylor, MSN, MBA, RN, TNS, TCRN, CPEN

Tiffany currently serves in the role as Trauma Coordinator at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Prior to this role, she worked in a variety of nursing roles. Her experiences sparked her interest in QI/PI in the hospital setting. She received her MSN in Nursing Leadership from Benedictine University in 2017 and a year later completed her MBA. She is passionate about improving processes and ensuring quality care for every patient that enters the hospital.



Paul Thurman, PhD, RN, ACNPC, CCNS, CCRN

Paul Thurman is currently a nurse scientist at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and an assistant professor in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)/Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS): Trauma/Critical Care/Emergency Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing since 2019. He was a nurse for 27 years and practiced as a clinical nurse specialist for 12 years in trauma resuscitation and critical care



Lisa Triantos, MSN, RN, CEN, NE-BC

Lisa Triantos serves as Clinical Director for Emergency, Medicine, and Behavioral Health Nursing at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, a 368-bed hospital that includes Penn Medicine’s Level 1 Trauma Center. She oversees clinical operations of 6 nursing units, leading teams to many achievements, including ANCC Magnet designation and recognition as an Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award Honoree. She also led the WPV taskforce. She has presented regionally and nationally and has published on engaging ancillary staff in shared governance.



Kelly Urban, PhD, MEd, RN, CCRN-K, TCRN

Kelly Urban has been a nurse for more than 20 years, spending the last 7 years working within the Trauma Program of the only Adult Level 1 Trauma Center in Arkansas. She is the Education, Outreach, and Injury Prevention Coordinator. She has a PhD in Nursing with a focus in implementation science, and has been the co-principal investigator for the feasibility study of implementing a nurse-administered trauma-focused treatment in the outpatient clinic following inpatient care of an injury.



Jill Volgraf, MSN, BA, RN

Jill Volgraf MSN, RN is the Director of Trauma and Burn Operations at Temple University Hospital, an accredited Level 1 Burn and Trauma Center in Philadelphia, PA. She began her career in the ED, then transitioned to Trauma Clinical Coordinator, Trauma Program Manager and then expanded her role acquiring Burn Program as the surgical APP positions. Jill was a previous STN Trauma Leadership Extern and is the current chair of the STN Leadership Committee.



Jacqueline Walsh, RN, BSN, MSN

Jacqueline Walsh graduated in 2016 from Molloy College with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She worked at Stony Brook University Hospital from 2016-2018 as a SICU RN, and transferred to NYU Langone Long Island in 2018 and worked in the CTICU/ SICU until 2020. From 2020-2021 she worked in the IR Unit as a float RN. She has just finished working on her Masters in Leadership through Stony Brook University. She has been the Injury Prevention Coordinator for the Division of Trauma at NYU Langone Hospital since August 2021.



Kayla Whiteaker, MSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, NE-BC

Kayla Whiteaker is the Trauma Program Director at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN where she is building a Level II Trauma center from the ground up. She has previous experience as the Trauma Program Director at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, TN. Prior to that she has experience as an Interim PI Coordinator, Trauma Resuscitation Nurse, and a variety of roles within the ED. Kayla began her nursing career at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN in the Adult ED.



Esther Wood, MSN, RN-BC

Esther Wood has been a nurse for over 20 years and is currently the Nurse Manager for the Trauma Medical Surgical unit at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), a 29 bed unit and a Level 1 Trauma Center. Esther currently manages a team of 80 staff members. Esther was Chair of the Nurse Manager Council at PPMC where she championed projects to increase employee satisfaction and Patient safety. Esther is also an active member of the Patient and Family Education Committee and the employee recognition Program.
