STN Webinar: Workplace Violence in the Healthcare Environment

There is noted increased awareness of the issue of healthcare violence. Healthcare workers experience workplace violence at rates significantly higher than other industries per the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Types of violence range from verbal abuse to physical assaults. Workplace negatively impacts the mental health and wellbeing of healthcare workers, leading to increased stress, burnout, and job dissatisfaction. This webinar will serve to increase awareness about the prevalence and impact of workplace violence in healthcare and regulatory requirements and legislation.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, 80% of the participants will be able to:
- Identify factors which have influenced the current state of workplace violence within the healthcare environment.
- Discuss regulatory requirements and legislation.
- Demonstrate best practices for minimizing workplace violence within healthcare facilities.
