The Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) TOPIC Committee is dedicated to forging a brighter future for trauma care by igniting excellence in performance improvement programs across all levels and settings. We are champions of empowerment, equipping trauma nurses, physicians, and program staff with the tools to elevate patient outcomes. Through assessment of the entire trauma care continuum, insightful review of processes, and strategic monitoring of patient outcomes, we are driving meaningful change with the TOPIC Course. Our goal is to cultivate a culture of continuous growth and a steadfast safety mindset, ensuring optimal trauma care for every patient, every time.
TOPIC Courses
TOPIC is a foundational course for Trauma Program Leaders that focuses on the development and execution of a strong performance improvement program. The TOPIC course is customized to best meet the needs of the individual trauma care provider participants who have varying levels of experience with trauma performance improvement. There are currently three course formats that focus on the different performance improvement needs based on the trauma center setting. To get the most out of the course, consider having the Trauma Program Manager and the Trauma Medical Director take the course together.
