Rene is currently managing trauma, emergency and transplant departments for a healthcare group in Africa. She serves on the international committee for STN, is a board member for the Emergency Medicine Society of South Africa and a Fellow of the Academy of Nurses of South Africa. She has been an invited speaker on several international, national and regional congresses as an expert in trauma management (clinical and administrative), injury prevention, major incident (disaster) management, performance improvement and several other emergency medicine topics. She has published peer reviewed articles in medical journals, chapters as part of the TNCC, ENPC and ATCN manuals and a co-author of several injury prevention booklets.

Elizabeth Atkins, MSN, RN, TCRN

Elizabeth “Liz” Atkins, MSN, RN, TCRN, is a healthcare executive and trauma systems leader with over 35 years of progressive experience in critical care nursing, hospital operations, and healthcare strategy. As Executive Director of the Georgia Trauma Commission, she spearheads trauma system development, funding oversight, and quality improvement initiatives impacting trauma care across Georgia. Under her leadership, Georgia earned Patient Safety Organization status, streamlined millions in public funds, and implemented a data-driven benchmarking platform. Her work has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national conferences, reflecting a deep commitment to evidence-based practice, policy advancement, and health system transformation.

Jennifer Bath, DNP, RN, AGCNS-BC, CBIS, TCRN, CEN
Clinical Nurse Specialist Trauma, Carilion Clinic

Dr. Bath is the Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Trauma Service at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, at Level I trauma center in southwest Virginia. She specializes in traumatic brain injury and has presented her research nationally and internationally. She assisted with the diaphragm pacer program implementation and assists with pacer placements in the OR, patient/family education, and transition of care to facilities including staff education and training.

Katherine Bendickson, BSN, RN
Valley Medical Center

Katherine Bendickson started her medical journey as a Spokane Volunteer Fire Fighter in her father's footsteps when she was 16. From the intense fire department her love of emergency and trauma medicine flourished. She graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor's in science and nursing and a job waiting in Anchorage, AK where her husband was stationed in the Army. After working a year on the medical surgical/stepdown unit she moved to into the Emergency Department. After many adventures and medical stories, she landed in Seattle, WA. Katherine's background includes working as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, working several trauma centers from 1-4, and caring for all ages and backgrounds in the process. Currently she is the Trauma Program Coordinator at Valley Medical Center, a Level III trauma facility near Seattle, WA. As chair of the Geriatric Committee, she hopes to bring her knowledge, passion, and drive to create the best outcomes for such a large part of the trauma population that is frequently underserved.

On her off time, she performs German Folk Dancing, volunteers with a costume/cosplay group called Costumed Characters for Causes, teaches Stop the Bleed, takes Brazilian Jui Jitsu, loves to read and spend time with her amazingly supportive two kids and husband who listen to all her gory stories.

Vicki Bennett, MSN, RN
Banner Health

Vicki is currently the Executive Director, Trauma Services for Banner Health. She was a Trauma Program Manager/Director for over 25 years prior to becoming the executive leader for the system trauma service line. Vicki is active at the local, state, and national levels and holds membership in many professional organizations. She serves as an ACS trauma reviewer and a state trauma surveyor for several states.

Ashley-Shae Benton
Medical Student, UofL Health

Ashley-Shae Benton is a medical student at the University of Louisville School of Medicine where she will graduate this August. She graduated from the University of Louisville College of Arts & Sciences in 2020 with a bachelor of arts in biology and double minors in psychology and middle eastern and islamic studies. She is the President of her school’s chapter of Gold Humanism Honor Society and is the Executive Director of the Future Healers program. She is particularly fond of her work with Future Healers, as it embodies the very reason why she went into medicine in the first place: to make positive changes in her communities through the administration of healthcare education, advocacy, and fostering resilience in trauma.

Ashley-Shae is pursuing an MBA beginning in the fall of 2025, after which time she plans to enter a general surgery residency program and officially begin her career in healthcare. She proudly hails from a holler in the tiny Appalachian mountain town of Whitesburg, Kentucky, where she learned to keep her eye on the objective, not the obstacle, and hopes to one day return to her roots and practice medicine in eastern Kentucky.

Melanie Berube, NP, PhD
Associate Professor, Quebec City

Dr. Bérubé is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at Laval University in Quebec City, Canada. She is also a scientist at the Centre de recherche du CHU de Quebec. Her research interests include the prevention of chronic pain and long-term opioid use, the development of quality indicators for trauma care including in mental health and in geriatric patients, and knowledge translation to practice. Dr. Bérubé is also the immediate Past-President of the Interdisciplinary Trauma Network of the Trauma Association of Canada.

Cindy Blank-Reid, MSN, RN, TCRN, CEN
Temple University Hospital

Cindy has been a nurse for over 40 years. She received her BSN from Villanova University and her Master's Degree from Widener University. She has held numerous positions during her career from Trauma Program Manager, Trauma Clinical Nurse Specialist, an EMS Coordinator, NSQIP abstractor to her current position of Trauma PI and Research Coordinator at Temple University Hospital. Cindy has lectured nationally and internationally and published numerous articles and book chapters. She has been actively involved in STN for decades and is a past president.

Brittany Blass, PA-C
Physician Assistant, Senior Instructor, University of Colorado Burn & Frostbite Center

Brittany currently works as a physician assistant at University of Colorado Burn & Frostbite Center focusing on care of critically ill patients in the Burn ICU. She is from Pennsylvania originally, completing undergraduate and graduate degrees there. Following a Critical Care Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, she started working on the Burn Unit in 2020. She focuses on education serving as the Burn unit coordinator for Advanced Practice Provider (APP) students and APP fellows. Additionally, she serves as the President-elect of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. In her spare time, she loves spending time outdoors mainly biking, hiking, and skiing.

Katie Boston-Leary, PhD, MBA, MHA, RN, NEA-BC, FAONL, FADLN
SVP of Equity and Engagement, American Nurses Association

Dr. Katie Boston-Leary is the Senior Vice President of Equity and Engagement at the American Nurses Association addressing DEIAB and workforce challenges within the profession. Katie is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and the School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University. She was recently inducted as a Distinguished Fellow at the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing with the National Black Nurses Association and will be inducted this year as a Fellow with American Organization of Nursing Leadership (AONL).

Carrie Chismarich, MA, BSN, RN, TNS, TCRN
Trauma PI Coordinator, SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital

Carrie Chismarich is a Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, an ACS Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, Missouri Level 1 Trauma Center and Illinois Level 1 Trauma Center servicing the Greater Saint Louis Metropolitan Area. She has been a nurse in the field of emergency, critical care, and trauma for over 23 years. Over the past 14 years, she has held several trauma program positions including the Injury Prevention Outreach Coordinator at a Level 1 ACS trauma center, Clinical Director of Trauma Services at a state designated Level 2 trauma center, and a Research Coordinator at a Level 1 ACS trauma center. She is an experienced healthcare leader with a strong focus on program development, healthcare operations, performance improvement, and trauma research and education.

Mrs. Chisolm is President of Optimal Healthcare Advisors, a consulting practice that helps trauma centers enhance operational performance. She has over 20 years' experience in trauma program leadership.

Jill Clemmons, DNP, MSN, ACNP-BC

Currently working as an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing in the DNP AGACNP acute care program. I continue my practice at UK level 1 trauma center as an advanced practice provider in the trauma ICU, with over 25 years of prehospital and ICU/ED critical care experience in my career. I enjoy serving the community as a Stop the Bleed instructor, in addition to teaching Advanced Trauma Life Support.

Jessica Cofran, MSN, RN, TCRN, CSTR, CAISS
Trauma Service Line Director, CommonSpirit Mountain Region

Jessica Cofran is a Director of Trauma Services at Common Spirit Health. She has 15 years’ trauma nursing experience with specialty in trauma critical care, emergency care, trauma registry, and process improvement. Jessica has been an active part of the Trauma Community for the past 10 years and is currently serving as the Chair of the American Trauma Society Trauma Nurse Leadership Council, and an active member Society of Trauma Nurses Leadership Development Committee, and Trauma Outcomes Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) Committees. Jessica has special interest in utilizing technology to elevate performance improvement processes, trauma data analytics and implementation, and development of regional systemization and inter-facility collaboration.

James Colquitt, PhD, RRT-ACCS
Associate Dean for Research and Clinical Simulation, IllinoisCOM at The Chicago School

Dr. James Colquitt, Associate Dean for Research and Clinical Simulation at the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine, brings cutting-edge insights to the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare education. With a PhD in Workforce Development from the University of Georgia and extensive clinical experience in respiratory therapy, Dr. Colquitt combines academic rigor with practical medical expertise. His pioneering work in simulation-based learning across multiple medical institutions has established him as a leader in innovative educational methodologies. In his presentation, Dr. Colquitt will explore how AI technologies can enhance competency-based training for osteopathic physicians practicing in diverse settings, offering a roadmap for integrating these powerful tools to better prepare healthcare professionals for the challenges of modern medicine.

Tracy Cotner-Pouncy, MSN, RN, TCRN

Tracy Cotner-Pouncy is the Sr. Director of Trauma Services for UCHealth Northern Colorado with over 25 years of trauma management experience. She currently serves as a Director-at-Large for the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN). She is also a member of the Trauma Nursing Leadership Council for the American Trauma Society (ATS) and a member of the Trauma Systems Committee for the Trauma Centers Association of America (TCAA). Ms. Cotner-Pouncy serves as a Nurse Reviewer for the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as well as a Nurse Partner for the ACS Best Practice Guideline Workgroup. At the State level, Ms. Cotner-Pouncy is a member of the Colorado Trauma Network (CTN) and serves as the Rural Implementation Committee Chair for the Colorado Whole Blood Coalition.

Meaghan Crawley, MSN, RN, TCRN
Trauma Program Manager, Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital

Meaghan is the Trauma Program Manager at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital, an ACS Verified Level 1 Trauma Center in Grand Rapids Michigan. She began her nursing career in 2010 with experience in Emergency and Surgical Critical Care Nursing. She obtained her MSN from the University of Arizona in 2017, with an emphasis in Clinical Systems Leadership. Meaghan joined the trauma department in 2018 as the Injury Prevention Coordinator, later serving as a PI nurse in the program and starting as Trauma Program Manager in 2023.

Troy DeJoode
President, Carson & Claire Forever Foundation

Troy DeJoode is President of the Carson & Claire Forever Foundation. He speaks frequently on resilience, confidence in crisis, perseverance, family experiences during trauma, the miracle of organ donation, grief, and the importance of living in the moment.

Troy experienced that which no father or husband should have to live through after a truck ran a stop sign crashing into the family minivan hospitalizing his three-year-old son, taking the lives of his five-year-old son and five-month-old daughter, and leaving their mother in a coma with a traumatic brain injury. Come along as Troy take the audience on an amazing journey of perseverance from tragedy and adversity to hope and healing. Mixing humor in a conversational style, Troy manages to make a deeply personal and unimaginable tragedy relatable to the audience delivering tears and laughter, as well as hope and healing. Troy lives in Nevada, Iowa with his wife, Michelle and kids, Chase, Bretton, Dylan and Ashlynn. He is Executive Director of the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities, and a recovering lawyer.

Janice Delgiorno, MSN, ACNP-BC, CCRN, TCRN
Trauma Program Director/ Trauma Nurse Practitioner, Cooper University Hospital

Janice is the Trauma Program Director at Cooper, Southern NJ’s Level One Trauma Center. She received her BSN from Villanova and MSN/ Acute Care NP from Thomas Jefferson University. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Society of Trauma Nurses, American Association of Critical Care Nurses and American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has presented at numerous National, Regional and local conferences on various trauma and critical care topics. In 2024 she received the Villanova Nursing Alumni Medallion for Excellence in Nursing Leadership and was also named the American Association of Nurse Practitioner’s APN of the Year for NJ.

Cristiane Domingues, PhD, MSN, MBA, BSN, RN

Dr. Domingues has experience in Health Management, Nursing and Medical Education, and Medical-Surgical Nursing. Consultant in Trauma Systems/Services development and management and Coordinator at All Trauma Company. Member of the STN ATCN and International Committee, and the Panamerican Trauma Society Nursing Committee.

Dan Dworkis, MD, PhD
Chief Medical Officer, Mission Critical Team Institute

Dan Dworkis MD PhD FACEP is an ER doctor and the Chief Medical Officer at the Mission Critical Team Institute where he directs the division of Mission Critical Medicine. His work focuses on multidisciplinary and multi-professional teams working complex, rapidly adaptive problems. Dr. Dworkis is the author of The Emergency Mind: Wiring Your Brain for Performance Under Pressure, and the founder of The Emergency Mind Project.

Brody Eick, MBA, BS, BSN, RN, CCRN, CEN, TCRN, NE-BC

Brody Eick has spent the last 18+ years working in trauma from the bedside to administration. He has a passion for trauma resuscitation and new and emerging trends to enhance the care we provide to our traumatically injured patients. He is currently the director of trauma services at a new program he is building in Southern California.

Lisa Evenbly, BSN, RN, MA, MICN, TCRN
DHR Health

Lisa is a graduate of the University of Iowa and is currently a Trauma PI Nurse for DHR Health, a Level I ACS Trauma Center in Edinburg, TX. With over 44 years of experience in pre-hospital, ED, critical care and education. She has also held multiple roles in trauma including Trauma Program Manager, Trauma PI Coordinator, Registrar, Outreach educator and Trauma Nurse Coordinator. Lisa has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including EMS and has published numerous articles.

In her downtime, Lisa enjoys going to the beach, antiquing, spending time with her family and supporting her Iowa Hawkeye football team.

Kathryn Fisher, BSN, RN, CCRN
Trauma Program Manager, Memorial Hermann Greater Heights

Katie Fisher, BSN, RN, CCRN currently is the Trauma Program Manager and back-up Emergency Preparedness Officer for Memorial Hermann Greater Heights in Houston, Texas. Her background includes nine years as an emergency department nurse, five years as a flight nurse, and 4.5 years in trauma services. She is involved in multiple campus and system projects affiliated with trauma and other disciplines. In her free time, she enjoys being on the go with her husband and their three daughters.

Nicole Fox, MD, MPH
Pediatric Trauma Medical Director, Cooper University Health Care

Dr. Fox is the pediatric trauma medical director at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ a combined Level 1 adult/Level 2 pediatric trauma center. She is also the Associate chief Medical Officer for the health system. Dr. Fox is the President of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and serves as a lead site reviewer for the American College of Surgeons Verification Review Committee.

Elizabeth Fuchsen, MSN, RN
Trauma Manager, UnityPoint Health Des Moines

Beth Fuchsen is a Trauma Manager for UnityPoint Health Des Moines, an ACS Level 1 adult center, an ACS Level 2 pediatric center, and two state Level IV centers. She has been a nurse for 20 years, with experience in trauma, critical care, and informatics nursing. Beth is active in State of Iowa trauma system and serves as a reviewer for state verifications.

Jeff Gilchrist, MHA, BA, RN, CEN, CPEN, NREMT-P, CCEMT-P
Trauma Program Supervisor, UnityPoint Health - Marshalltown

Jeff Gilchrist is the trauma program supervisor for UnityPoint Health - Marshalltown, a state verified Level IV trauma center. Jeff has been in emergency services since 1997 working as a paramedic, flight paramedic and firefighter. He has been an RN since 2008 with experience both rural and urban emergency departments as well as pediatric and adult intensive units. He has additional interests in hospital hazmat preparedness and toxicology.

Paula Halcomb, DNP, APRN, ACNS-BC, FCNS, TCRN
Clinical Nurse Specialist, UK HealthCare

Paula Halcomb is a DNP prepared, board certified Clinical Nurse Specialist for Trauma Surgical Services at UK HealthCare. She has been a nurse almost 40 years, the majority of that dealing with critically ill trauma patients. Her areas of interest include early mobility and post ICU disability prevention, traumatic brain injury management and fall prevention.

Melissa Hall, MSN, RN
Director, Trauma Services, Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center

Melissa N. Hall, MSN, RN, is a dedicated trauma nursing leader with extensive experience in trauma program development, education, and quality improvement. As the Director of Trauma Services at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, she leads multidisciplinary teams to enhance trauma care, compliance, and patient outcomes. A recognized speaker and advocate, Melissa is passionate about trauma education, injury prevention, and advancing the field through leadership and mentorship.

Laura Harwood, BSN, RN
Trauma Program Manager, St. Anthony Hospital

Laura has been a trauma nurse for over 20 years with her background including ICU, flight nursing, performance improvement, and her current role as the trauma program manager of a Level I trauma program. She grew up in rural Colorado and loves the mountains which often leads to backpacking, skiing, and photography adventures. She is passionate about trauma care and how to continue to improve that care in various contexts, from specialty care in the Level I setting to rural trauma and austere environments.

Kathryn Heacock, DNP, APRN-CNS, CRNP, CCRN
Clinical Nurse Specialist, R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center

Dr. Kate Heacock is a dual-certified Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) who practices as a CNS at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She supports the Trauma Resuscitation Unit, Critical Care Resuscitation Unit, and the Center for Hyperbaric and Dive Medicine. With nearly 15 years of experience in critical care, trauma, and flight nursing, her clinical interests include advanced resuscitation techniques, interdisciplinary collaboration, healthcare technology, and frontline empowerment to drive system improvements. Dr. Heacock is also an active advocate for the CNS role at both the state and national level through the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Maureen Higgins, MSW
Project Manager, MaineHealth

Maureen Higgins received her Masters in Social Work at the University of Michigan. She has extensive experience in oncology both in-patient and out-patient, as well as community outreach and program development. She is currently the Project Manager with MaineHealth/Centers for Community Improvement/Healthy Aging, responsible for piloting and implementing A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls/Virtual throughout the health system.

Kaity Hollingsworth, BSN, RN
Trauma Program Coordinator, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center

Kaity is a 2014 Wichita State University BSN graduate. She currently works in a Level III trauma center at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS. During her time at HRMC, Kaity has advanced her career from bedside ED nurse to Trauma Registrar and PI Coordinator to her current position as Trauma Program Coordinator. Kaity focuses on building the knowledge and confidence of her team and supports their efforts to provide excellent care.

Heidi Hotz, RN

The global multidisciplinary trauma community is a perfect example of 3 or 6 degrees of separation. We are usually only 3 or 6 connections away from a friend, or friend of a friend. It is serendipity that brings us together to attain common goals in building trauma systems and centers while allowing for global cultural and organizational differences. Through the global interconnectedness, strong professional relationships, and friendships form; all with the end goal of improving trauma patient outcomes.

Darrell Hunt, MD, PhD, FACS
Trauma Medical Director, TriStar Skyline Medical Center

Darrell L. Hunt, MD, PhD, FACS, was named the Trauma Medical Director of TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN in February of 2021 and the Division Trauma Medical Director for the TriStar Division of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) in 2022. He is also the program director for the TriStar/Nashville surgical critical care fellowship, which started in 2023. Dr. Hunt completed medical school at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He then completed his residency in General Surgery, PhD in molecular cell biology, and fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Florida in Gainesville. In his free time, Dr. Hunt enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Wendy Hyatt, BSN, RN, CEN, TCRN
Trauma Clinical Quality Specialist, UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital

Wendy has over two decades of experience in emergency and trauma care. As the trauma clinical quality specialist at Highlands Ranch Hospital, she has been instrumental in developing and implementing the hospital's first trauma program. Previously, she served as a trauma nurse coordinator at Swedish medical Center where she played a key role in trauma program development, quality improvement, and education.

Anna Johnson, MHA, MLS (ASCP)
Manager, Garth Englund Blood Centers, UCHealth

Anna Johnson is the manager of the UCHealth Garth Englund Blood Centers, the largest hospital-based donation center in Colorado. She has been a medical laboratory scientist for 15 years and has 9 years of laboratory management experience. She received her Masters degree in Healthcare Administration in 2022. Anna serves as a member of the Blood Supply Committee for the Colorado Whole Blood Coalition and assisted in the implementation of whole blood in the pre-hospital setting for Northern Colorado in December 2024. She is a longtime platelet donor and advocate for the impact blood donation provides to patients in need.

Cindy Joseph, BSN, RN, CFRN, CPEN
Trauma Outreach and Education Program Manager, UCHealth

Cindy Joseph, BSN, RN, CFRN, CPEN, is the Manager of Outreach and Trauma Education at UCHealth Northern Region, where she coordinates trauma education programs and facilitates Stop the Bleed initiatives. Drawing from her extensive background as a flight nurse, she regularly shares her trauma care knowledge at EMS and critical care conferences nationwide. Cindy maintains multiple instructor certifications and contributes to the field through her work on the Society of Trauma Nurses Clinical Committee, as an item writer for the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing, and as author of the Disaster chapter in the 9th Edition Trauma Nurse Core Course.

Helen Jowett, BSN, RN
Trauma Program Manager, The Royal Children's Hospital

Helen Jowett is a Trauma Program Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant at The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, specializing in trauma care and quality improvement. As the International Director with the Society of Trauma Nurses, she contributes to global trauma care efforts and is a founding member of the Australian & New Zealand Trauma Quality Improvement Program. Helen also serves as the Immediate Past President of the Australian & New Zealand Trauma Society and works with international trauma organizations to enhance care worldwide.

Debra Kitchens, MBA, BSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, NRP
Manager, Trauma Services, Prisma/Greenville

Debra started her medical career as a Medic in Atlanta, GA. To date she has over 30 years of trauma nursing experience. Debra has been involved in Trauma Management for over 22 years and has been in the role of Manager of Trauma Services for Prisma/ Greenville Memorial for 12 years. She is an ATCN Educator and Course director. She is serving as the chair of the ATCN 9th edition Revisions. She also serves on the Journal of Trauma Nursing Editorial Board.

Amy Koestner, MSN, RN

Amy Koestner, MSN, RN is the Director of Trauma Services at Corewell Health Butterworth, an ACS verified Level I Trauma Center, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Amy is an active in the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) for over 20 years, serving in a variety of leadership roles, including President in 2008. She is a Nurse Reviewer for ACS, VRC and other state designating agencies.

Lindsay is currently a Nurse Supervisor at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX where she has been practicing pediatric emergency nursing for 18 years. Lindsay has also worked extensively with the Texas Pediatric Readiness Project as a Regional Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator where she has been actively engaged in promoting and developing pediatric readiness across multiple hospital systems in the central Texas region. In addition, Lindsay is involved in numerous quality and process improvement projects through her role as a Trauma Nurse Leader, is a trained simulation facilitator, and an active ENPC Instructor.

Rebecca has been a trauma nurse at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for 13 years. She has worked in the Trauma Resuscitation Unit (TRU) for the past 9 years. Rebecca audits antibiotic administration for open fractures in the TRU.

Kathleen Martin, MSN, RN

Kathleen is a trauma systems consultant who develops trauma centers and systems globally and provides education and mentoring around the world. She previously served as senior director of trauma services at UCHealth, CO, was the trauma nurse director at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany (1st ACS-verified trauma center outside the USA) and TPM at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She currently serves on the American Trauma Society BOD and served for 19 years on the STN BOD including as STN President.in 2000 and 2001.

Maria McMahon has practiced trauma and critical care nursing for over 30 years. As the Trauma Program Manager for the last 19 years, she has become a leader in pediatric trauma care. Maria works with the Trauma team, clinical staff, and multidisciplinary services staff, across the continuum, to ensure current evidenced based practice, information, and education is available to provide optimal care for injured children. She is an active member of the Society of Trauma Nurses.

Becca Mielke, MSN, RN, CPEN, TCRN

Becca is a pediatric emergency care specialist with 18 years of experience. She serves as the ED RN Practice Specialist Dell Children's Medical Center and Associate Director for Nursing Curriculum Development at the DCMC Simulation Center. Additionally, Becca is a Nurse Content Creator for SimBox, focusing on simulation education and video production. She has contributed to the Texas Pediatric Readiness Project as a Regional PECC and is the Chair of the Emergency Nurses Association Pediatric Committee. She continuously strives to enhance pediatric care through education, simulation, and quality improvement initiatives.

Elizabeth Naber, MSN, RN, CCRN, CNRN, TCRN

Elizabeth has been a nurse for 26 years with 24 of those years in trauma. She has also worked in a liver transplant ICU in Dublin, Ireland and a medical ICU in Guernsey, a British Channel Island off the coast of France. She has spent the last 15 years as a trauma educator both in the ICU setting at a level 1 trauma center and at the system level coordinating trauma specific nursing education for levels 1, 2 and 3 trauma centers. She has recently taken the role of trauma program manager at a level 3N trauma center. She is also a clinical instructor for Xavier University.

Jessica Osipowicz, MSN, CRNP

Jessica Z. Osipowicz, MSN, CRNP is a Trauma Nurse Practitioner at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a Level I Trauma Center. She received her BSN from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006 following which she began her career as a nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at CHOP. Jessica received her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania’s Acute/Chronic Nurse Practitioner Program in 2011 and transitioned to the Trauma Nurse Practitioner role in 2012. As of 2022, Jessica is the lead APP for the trauma group. Professionally, she has lectured within CHOP and at regional and national conferences including Topics Explored: Pediatric Surgical and Trauma Nursing Conference, Nursing of Children Network (NCN) Annual Regional Pediatric Nursing Conference, NAPNAP National Conference on Pediatric Health Care, and TraumaCon (Society of Trauma Nurses).

My name is Katie Trejo and I am from Topeka, KS where I am a Trauma PI Coordinator for a Level II Adult ACS Verified Trauma Center. Here i work to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes and enhance operational deficiencies to be in line with ACS and ATLS guidelines for our trauma patients. I bring ten years of experience with adult medical-surgical and emergency department nursing, where I have been at the continuum of care for the trauma patient. I will finish my Masters for Clinical Nurse Leader in May 2025. I look forward to sharing our presentation and findings and learning from others.

Colleen Trevino is the Director of Advanced Practice for the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She has been a Nurse Practitioner for 24 years and is an Associate Professor of Surgery, Director of Injury Science (Comprehensive Injury Center), and Director of the Trauma Quality of Life (TQOL) Clinic for firearm injury survivors (FH). Her research focuses on biopsychosocial long-term quality of life outcomes after injury, particularly after firearm injury. She has developed a unique multidisciplinary approach to injury care that addressed SDoH during trauma recovery.

LeAnne Young is the 2024-2025 President for the Society of Trauma Nurses and the Assistant Clinical Director of Trauma and Injury Prevention at Texas Children’s Hospital (Houston, TX). She also serves as Chair of the Trauma Centers Association of America (TCAA) Pediatric Trauma Committee and is an active member of the Pediatric Trauma Society (PTS) and the Pan American Trauma Society (SPT). LeAnne has over 19 years of trauma nursing experience with over 14 years of experience in both adult and pediatric trauma program operations. She has led trauma programs at community based, urban, and rural trauma centers with varying levels (I – IV) of state designation and ACS verification.
