STN Webinar: Level IV Trauma Centers: Small Program, Big Deal
Date: December 3, 2025 @ 12:00 PM EST
Think Level IV trauma centers are just "small hospitals"? Think again.
Whether you work at a Level I, II, III, or IV—you're part of a trauma SYSTEM. And the more you understand about every level in that system, the better you can serve your patients and collaborate with your colleagues across the continuum of care.
Level IVs are often the first hands on critical patients. They stabilize, they assess, they make split-second decisions with limited resources, and they keep patients alive long enough to reach the next level of care. Or they provide definitive care and send patients home. Either way, they're essential—and worth understanding better.
Learning Outcomes
- What is a Level IV trauma center (and why it matters to YOU)
- How Level IVs strengthen the entire trauma system
- The reality of initial stabilization with limited resources (skills every trauma nurse can learn from)
- Why understanding the full continuum of care makes you a better trauma nurse, regardless of your level
Level I-III nurses will gain insight into where transfer patients come from and the critical care that's already happened before they arrive. Level IV nurses will connect with the broader trauma community and deepen your understanding of your role in the system. Because excellent trauma care isn't about hierarchy—it's about understanding how we all fit together.
